About Our Preschool
In 1972, a group of mothers met for the purpose of establishing a pre-school for children in Holton, and the surrounding communities. Lollipop Lane Preschool provides children a group experience in which they may become aware of and appreciate the world around them. They are given an opportunity to learn, to share and cooperate with their classmates. The curriculum is based upon the skills that need to be mastered before entering kindergarten. The pre-school is located in the First United Methodist Church at 1401 W 4th in Holton. Students and parents may enter from the southeast doors.
Lollipop Board of Directors
Lollipop Lane Inc. is managed by a five member, VOLUNTEER, Board of Directors. Parents of past, present or future Lollipop Lane students are eligible to run for the board. Board members serve a two year term. They are rotated yearly by two positions rolling off one year; and three the next. Board positions are as follows:
Chairperson
Treasurer
Recording Secretary
Tuition Secretary
Public Relations Secretary
Lollipop Lane Inc. By-Laws state:
New Board members must take the positions of Tuition Secretary and Treasurer. (This allows members on the Board at all times that have experience with these two positions to help the incoming persons in these positions.)
Perks of running for the Board!
At Lollipop Lane, we allow children to have hands-on learning experiences. This fosters age appropriate development. We read to the children everyday. We believe that positive reinforcement is important for children to develop self-esteem. Children need an environment that supports free expression and stimulates learning. Most importantly, however, we believe that children need to have fun!
